WHAT REMAINS

OIL   ON CANVAS
36″ X 48″

This piece came from a quiet and intense season of my life after the birth of my daughter when sleep was scarce and my focus was entirely on family. I stayed away from the canvas longer than usual, but the need to create never disappeared. When I finally returned, I worked instinctively using acrylic sticks and a golf tee, allowing raw marks and emotion to lead the way. What emerged was a simple and honest image of a figure holding a child with everything else stripped away. No environment, no narrative, no excess. Just connection, protection, and love at its most essential. This work is about what remains when the noise falls away, and if you have ever felt that grounding pull toward family, purpose, or something deeper, this piece will resonate with you.
